What was Calder Vale Club is now Calder Vale Community Hub Limited.
This means that our sole purpose is to operate for the benefit of the community.
Help us to secure the future for this village asset.
I’m Vincent Holme, a committed committee volunteer. I’m contacting you on
behalf of Calder Vale Community Hub Limited. The purpose of this document is
to ask for your pledge of financial help with an important community project.
Take part ownership of this village institution and help us raise the funds to
develop into an inclusive hub for the village and wider community. We are no
longer a club and want to add a shop, a cafe and develop the front room into a
community space alongside the bar. We aim to maintain our existing events and
add to them to welcome a diverse range of local users. The opening hours will be
extended to allow for daytime use.
We aim to raise around £300 000. We intend that 80% of this will come from a
large grant application which we are currently working diligently to submit.
So we need to raise at least £60 000.
With the money you invest we aim to renew the building and the site, creating
an attractive gateway to the village and a multi-purpose village hub. We aim to
complete the project between New Year and Spring 2025. Closing after New
Years Eve, ready to reopen at Easter at the latest. (More details will soon

What you get for your money.
★ One member one vote. Influence the decisions of the society.
★ Be part owner of the community hub
NOTE. Your share capital invested in the hub is at risk if the business fails.
However in our fortunate circumstances we already own the building which
reduces this risk.
Date of first AGM
At the moment the society is being managed by a steering group. You will have
the chance to vote for your committee within six months of 31 March 2024.

investment. We are not asking for any money now
3. We need your pledges of support now. (We are working hard on grant
applications to secure the funds to improve our asset. As part of this
process we need to show that you, the community, support the project).
